Another debutant Raghavendra alias Sumanth gives a competent film with horror dose and graphic works are good to watch. Thulasi Films Ramesh Kumar Jain first expensive film ‘Naani’ has a gripping second half.

Based on a true story happened in Gujarat in an affluent family is also touching in many situations because of the child facing troubles for no mistake of her.

The sweet couple Shlok (Manish) and Mantra (Priyanka Rao) comes to the big bungalow to stay after marriage. Manish friend Shamanth (Yethiraj) alerts that it is not a proper place to live. Shamanth gives a series of incidents that makes his friend to vacate this place. In the big bungalow there is a past history. Naani effect on Mantra is very attacking. When Shlok is ready to leave the house, Naani is not ready to leave. The ghost interacts with Ammamma and Mantravadi. The power of ghost is on higher side.

In the flash back we get to know the childless couple of 15 years Suhasini and Jai Jagadish tale.  It is a test tube born to Suhasini from the sperm of a stranger. Jai Jagadish in fact forces this procedure. Once the baby is born his mind reacts negative. The child feels discarded. It is also polio affected. Facing insult from society for his impotency he takes a very strong step. Before locking the big house he spreads poison on the food Naani is supposed to take. He also advices Naani that she should not allow anyone inside the house – this is in fact is the great for the child. The parents do not return and in a week time Naani dies. The athma of Naani is protecting this house. Life is miserable for the people who come to stay here.


Priyanka Rao excel as Mantra, the superb emotions, dialogues for her portions send shocks. Suhasini senior and Suhasini junior are good in their portions. Jai Jagadish, Manish and Yethiraj have given good support.

There are two lovely and tremendous songs in this ‘Naani’. Camera work of Gundulpet Suresh gives right moments with bright environment.


The sympathy for ‘Naani’ you would definitely attach after watching this film. Worth watching once.
